I know you said it was time to get dressed,

But first I have to scrape this glue off my desk!

And there’s a stick danglin’ outside my window;

Just wanna catch a butterfly!

I’ve gotta… run, I’ve gotta jump,

I’ve gotta play, I’ve gotta climb,

I’ve gotta dig, I’ve gotta spin, I’ve gotta fly!

I’m coming, Mom, just a minute more!

There are so many things to do!

Yes, I’m listening to you.

I want to use your jump rope to climb up a tree,

What?  I didn’t hear you, I thought you agreed;

Let’s go exploring down by the creek,

I forgot I had homework to do!

I’ve gotta… run, I’ve gotta jump,

I’ve gotta play, I’ve gotta climb,

I’ve gotta dig, I’ve gotta spin, I’ve gotta fly!

I’m coming, Mom, just a minute more!

There are so many things to do!

Yes, I’m listening to you.

I didn’t mean to get gum in my hair;

Whoops!  How did chocolate get on that chair?

And that wallpaper was peeling anyway;

Let’s go play outside in the snow!

Mom, you know I’m doin’ the best I can do.

It’s hard to remember, I get so confused.

Thank you for helping me to find my way,

Things will get easier someday...
