Lisa Baydush is an engaging singer, song-writer, Jewish music educator and children's performer who delights in transmitting the values, stories and traditions of Judaism through the medium of Jewish music.  Inspired by the songs of Debbie Friedman, and encouraged to "get [her] music out there" by Julie Silver,  Lisa made a dramatic career change in 2003 from desktop publishing and full-time parenting to song-writing and teaching.  Lisa has written and composed over 60 songs on a variety of subjects including Jewish holidays and liturgy, personal stories, and reflections about life.  A mother of three with an MBA in marketing, Lisa's newly-discovered musical outlet comes as a big surprise to the woman who spent a lifetime thinking she couldn't sing!  In 2005, Lisa and her Shir Synergy partners, Audrey Katz and Barry Astrow, released their first album of Lisa's original songs, Find the Sunshine, and expect to release their second album, Sing a Song, sometime in 2008.

Lisa is currently a preschool music specialist at the Jewish Community Center in Rockville, MD, and leads musical family Shabbat and High Holy Day services at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, DC.  Lisa taught for several years at both the Maryland School for Jewish Education and the Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation's Capital, where she developed a highly successful song-writing workshop program for students in grades 4-6, and an innovative curriculum on exploring Judaism through the lens of contemporary Jewish music.  Lisa has also led educator's workshops at the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning and at the Jewish Study Center (see below), and sings at b'nai mitzvah services and other programs upon request.
